The tools we create are simple, credible, fun and adapted to the realities of all families, including those experiencing food insecurity. They’ve been designed to promote healthy eating for the whole family, before and after the birth of a baby.

 

All Fondation Olo tools are available for free download. Just click the link for each tool to download the PDF. Some tools are also available for sale in print version. You can order them by filling out this online form.

The Reference Guide gives support to the organizations that help families acquire healthy eating habits. It presents the foundations of the 1000 Days to Savour Life approach. Fondation Olo gives you clear definitions and a common language relating to the behaviours to encourage in families, particularly those in a low-income situation. These messages are based on the latest recommendations on nutrition and the perinatal period.

The Olo Tool Briefing Sheets give details on how to use the educational tools included in the Discovery Kit, along with examples.

You can use these tools as a reference to include or help you enrich activities on nutrition in your organization.

A collection of 25 simple, nutritious, low-cost and tasty recipes for the whole family. The recipes in this booklet were developed with a focus on making cooking easy and enjoyable for everyone. These recipes are straightforward, made for families with little cooking experience or with difficulty reading, as well as with limited financial resources. They are also especially adapted for pregnant women and young children.

Planner – Menu and Shopping List

This 52-page pad (1 page per week for a year) is made to list the foods available at home and to plan the coming week’s meals. The grocery list is made to jot down any missing ingredients that need to be bought to make the planned meals. One pad can be given per family, or it can be used in group workshops on meal planning.

This tool suggests a variety of nutritious foods that can be used to make up an ideal snack. It’s simple to understand that, in order to keep hunger at bay until the next meal, a snack must combine two types of food: a carbohydrate-rich food and one with protein.

 

This tool can be used in workshops with families and given to parents to refer to and look for inspiration.

The Olo blog is a great source of information on helping kids acquire healthy eating habits early on in life, for both families and community workers. The blog presents simply worded content that’s available for free to everyone. It includes recipes, articles, video clips, games, colouring pages and many other tools.

These bookmarks can be given to parents to point them to the Olo blog. Bookmarks are available in batches of 50.
